Las Vegas World of Outlaws Nationals and Modifieds Wednesday and Thursday

at the Dirt Track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway

        LAS VEGAS – The Las Vegas World of Outlaws Nationals Presented By J.D. Byrider will take place Wednesday and Thursday at the Dirt Track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Modifieds also will compete on March 2 and 3.

        A complete program – practice, heat races, last-chance race and A-Feature – will be contested both nights as the Dirt Track kicks off NASCAR Weekend at LVMS.

        The short-track festivities will kick off Tuesday evening when Steve Kinser, Donny Schatz, Levi Jones and Bryan Clauson will participate in a free driver autograph session at J.D. Byrider, 3024 Fremont St., 5-7 p.m.

        The Las Vegas events are the sixth and seventh races on the 2011 WoO schedule. Steve Kinser has two wins (Volusia Speedway Park, Pike County Speedway). Jason Sides (Volusia Speedway Park) and Sammy Swindell (Royal Purple Raceway) each have one win.

        The most recent WoO winner at the LVMS Dirt Track is Jason Meyers (Feb. 2010).

Wednesday, March 2 and Thursday, March 3
Noon – Pit gates open.
4 p.m. – Spectator gates open.
4:15-4:45 p.m. – World of Outlaws autograph session (on the midway).
4:30 p.m. – Modified pill draw and drivers’ meeting.
5 p.m. – Modified wheel-packing.
5:30 p.m. – World of Outlaws wheel-packing.
6 p.m. – World of Outlaws hot laps, qualifying.
6:45 p.m. – Modified hot laps.
7 p.m. – National anthem.

7:05 p.m.
World of Outlaws heat races.
Modified heat races (8 laps or 8 minutes).
World of Outlaws Dash.
World of Outlaws B-Feature.
Modified B-Feature (8 laps).
World of Outlaws A-Feature (30 laps).
Modified A-Feature (20 laps).

        NASCAR Weekend begins on Thursday, March 3 with a full day of NASCAR Nationwide Series practice and a free driver autograph session. Stratosphere Pole Day features practice for both the Kobalt Tools 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race and Sam’s Town 300 NASCAR Nationwide Series race as well as qualifying for the Kobalt Tools 400 on Friday, March 4. The Sam’s Town 300 is set for Saturday, March 5 and the Kobalt Tools 400 will run on Sunday, March 6.
