_popupControl(); Greetings to all. This place seems to have a lot of Bristol veterans who have some good information.

My question is about tent camping at the spring race. How bad would it be weather wise. We are coming from Wisconsin and expect most weather conditions to be better then at home, However thats not to say camping in 30-40 degree weather would be a good thing.  How cold does it get overnight and what is a good, not flooded, campgroung for us. Also how accessible are the showers. There are 3 different campgrounds we are considering, Earhardt, Gaines, or Farmer Bob's. Any tips for a rookie?

Bring LOTS of WARM clothes.....Also, bring a spring wardrobe. I've been there when it was snowing during the Nationwide race........ and when I was in shorts in the grandstands at 75 degrees. Ya just never know what God has in store for ya during that time of year.
Coming from Wisconsin, the weather is bound to be at least a couple of degrees warmer.

I camped in a tent the first year I was there, (the year after the snow) and we got sunburned in the heat, had to buy shorts from the vendors. Two years ago I camped in my van and there was ice/frost on the window when I woke up, and it rained alot if I recall...so as Yukon says, it can be done, I was comfy, but come prepared for ALL weather. And FWIW, I would stay in Earhart, close to the action...and Jelloville. But then again, if you are looking for a quiet cmpground with no parties, Earhart may not be the best choice. :)
Some people are like slinkies..... They are not really good for anything but they're fun to watch when they tumble down the stairs.

If you go Earhardt, go for high ground, stay away from the creek.   Creek + tents sometimes doesn't work out.
