Hey Madfinn...I ran into a blaster fella at the gravel pit where I get my material this morning...he told me he has been blasting some rock up at the track...I asked him if it was the cove or the batcave...and he was stumped...so not sure yet if it still exists or has been erased..plus the BIG rumor going around town about future plans for the track...WOW..I only hope this rumor is true!!

Now if they were considering doing that, I'm sure that eventually they would have to apply for a permit or whatever from the town(s) that the land is in.....  so keep an eye on the town planning board reports for us!!!!!

will do man..On the one hand..this sounds like an impossible thing to happen.. The economy being so bad..attendance dropping..TV ratings fading away...However..when you think about the total picture...it could be plausible. Bruton Smith has never been one to fear the spending of money to create anything he considered to be valuable. He was willing and ready to spend whatever it would have taken to move Lowe's Motor Speedway to a new location over a permit issue on the dragstrip he wanted to build. To create a whole new race track and infrastructure in Concord, NC would be every bit as expensive as building a new track here in Loudon. Anyone with the capital at hand to invest in construction would be smart to do it now when the economy is down and companies are underbidding each other just to get work. Time will tell...time will tell..

Interesting, very interesting... I'm sure that Nascar would also have to/want to put their two cents into that decision and whether they would want another superspeedway race or two on the schedule.

At this point, I'd just be happy if they'd make some of that land tent camping like they have at Charlotte. That would boost revenue for sure. Pick one of the grassy lots near to a shower trailer and portapotties and make it happen Bruton! In Rock City at Charlotte, the tents were just in one field section within a minute or two walk of the trailer area so far enough away not to die from generator fumes but close enough to hang with everyone else.

I like the super speedways, but I can't imagine them building another one.  Having a "destination" in New England would be nice.   Maybe with the possible new gambling laws he will build a casino.  Probably not what Loudon folks would want to hear though.  My favorite rumor is the banked 3/4 mile track like Richmond, and a drag strip.  But I will take the track just like it is with better customer service.

"to better serve customers, New Hampshire Motor Speedway officials have extended their ticket office hours from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Sunday"

Should have plenty of time to write me back then.

yeah...i was slightly kidding on that write me back comment.

The motorcycle races were cool.  We went Saturday mid-day.  The infield looks better, but still not done.  It looks like their new RV lots in there are almost complete.  They are putting up black fencing to separate Isles I think.  Looks like all the electrical boxes are in place now.  They were still leveling it out, but had also laid some asphalt down.  Same old 7 spot scoring tower...Blah!  I will say...they have a lot to do in 2 weeks.  Catch fence isn't done...parts and cables laying around every where.  A lot of painting needs to be done.  Basically a lot of clean up work.  Im sure its all part of their 2 week plan, but I wouldn't want that much to do.  Oh and don't go up and grab onto that new fence...its like barbed wire.  The ladies running the concession stands were nice, but security was as dopey as usual.  I am sooo looking forward to two weeks from now.

At least it will (should) stop people from the stands from climbing up and over the fence like that guy did year or two ago in turn one, and who fell to the track from the top of the fence...

That could be a problem for us as we are normally on the road at least two weeks prior to the September race and end our trip with the NHMS race weekend.

“FANSFIRST” – Tickets arriving late, buy your tickets a year in advance and pay full price or wait to the last minute to get a deal. Am I missing something here?

Darn good thing the track is now fan friendly as I could not imagine what would happen if they were not.

Hi everyone,

This isi my first post.  We bought tickets for the first time this year and bought them all separately back in January.  I was upset over not getting a deal and this was the first time I ever bought tickets.
It is terrible that the track isn't doing something to compensate folks, especially those that have been loyal fans and customers for years!
We are heading North on Tuesday and we don't have our Saturday tickets yet, even though they were ordered on the same order as the Friday tickets.  When I called the track, they said they were having "issues" and if I didn't get them by Saturday to call them back.

They certainly don't leave much time to get the tickets before folks might want to leave if they are travelling.

Thanks for all the great info I have been reading on this forum!
Darr

Darr83, keep your eyes on the forum, we'll be having a Meet Greet and Drink Friday after the race! I'm bringing my camper up tomorrow and I'll post its location so we can all gather!

Interesting...you don't have your Saturday tickets yet and its a week away?  NHMS isn't going to get repeat business that way.

Hey MadFinn....when are you headed up?  I usually bring in on Sunday but plan to go over tomorrow.  I was wondering what the earliest you have ever dropped off on Saturday?
