Just in from Jennifer Enos, IR Media Relations....

SONOMA, Calif. — Comcast will be your source for television coverage of
this year’s California Army National Guard Wednesday Night Drags at
Infineon Raceway.

Stay tuned to the local Comcast access channel in your area as it will
cover the entire season of Wednesday Night Drags. Comcast will air two
original 30-minute programs each month, with several re-airs of each
show. The program had its debut on April 4.

This marks the first-ever season-long television show on the California
Army National Guard Wednesday Night Drags, which enters its 19th season in 2007. The half-hour program will cover the racing, including
round-by-round eliminations in the featured class, as well as profiles
and features.

The California Army National Guard Wednesday Night Drags program is
designed to help keep drag racing off the streets and on the drag strip.
Everyone from high school students to serious drag racers convene at
Infineon Raceway most every Wednesday evening to race down the
quarter-mile drag strip.

The show will also include vignettes from the Top the Cops™ program,
which runs from May through August as part of the California Army
National Guard Wednesday Night Drags. The Top the Cops program, which
enters its 10th season in 2007, allows high school students the rare
chance to drag race against Bay Area law enforcement officers on
Infineon Raceway’s quarter-mile drag strip.

See below for a list of the local Comcast cable channels that will
broadcast the program. Check your local listings for dates and times.

Thanks Dave for putting this up, I hope it answers a few questions. If in doubt, check with your local Comcast provider.

Hey... Finally someone saw it

Thanks Jack for the info, we never know what they will be featuring (Comcast) in their telecasts.
With all of that exposure, Joe Piazza will now go out and hire an agent since he hit the small screen.
Autograph signings will take place in the front of the Comp Rod lanes right after the final time runs and please bring your own Sharpie

Jack,
Just got a message from Jennifer Enos of our media relations staff that Comcast will be back to film another segment on June 6th.
Be sure to have some make up on as those close in shots will reveal every flaw in your faces...

One program on CompRod worked well in the half hour...

If they did one night of Sport Street, it'd have to be a MiniSeries...

Jack,
Because of time limitations, it is my understanding from the Comcast people that they will try to spot light 2 different classes during each night of filming.
Maybe Dave Hoover can back me up on this but none the less it's still good to see that you guys are getting some recognition for your support of this program.

Thanks Jack for clearing that up... Wonder where I got Burlingame from? Duh...
Well to date, just 2 of you have reported seeing the telecasts and both of you are in Marin County.
I still get e-mails asking about the Comcast events and the only answer that I can give is the information that was given to both Dave Hoover and myself from Jennifer Enos that was given to her by the Comcast people of which was posted earlier here on this topic.

Yep, your right Jack and I realized that shortly after I put my thought process to work but at least I had you on the West side of the Bay if that counts towards anything...

If anyone would be kind enough to somehow record the COMCAST televised races for me(and several of my peers), I would be very thankful. It is not aired in Windsor...and/or if it is, it is on a channel I do not subscribe to.

I would be willing to compensate that individual for any VHS/DVD materials needed.

Thanks in advance. I'd even cover SPECTATOR entry fee
Best local bench racer around.

Craig, I loaned Natalie Ernest my CD copy but if she returns it tonight and you are at the track, you can use it too. This was the one from last year and neither Dave or myself have copies of the last event that they filmed last month.

Dave,
Yours is a common complaint and I just wish that I had an answer for you.
The only thing that I can think of and this is pure speculation on my part that it was delivered to each of their providers and the option was left up to them to air it or not?

I just spoke to our old buddy and fellow racer (retired) Owen Hartmann this morning. He mentioned that he saw the Comcast race on the Santa Rosa Comcast channel 17 the other day. It sounds like the same one that others have seen in other cities. The Comp Rod category. Well I guess it's on but there seems to be no way to find it in any listing. You don't know when it will be on. ?

Thanks Mark for the update and it's good to find out that some others have seen it outside of Marin County.
Next time you speak to Owen and Shareen, give them my best.
I think very highly of them both and the times we were able to spend together in the old Super Mod days.
