    Posted: 10 Apr 2012 at 2:41pm
Where is the May 26 Global Rallycross Championship race at Charlotte being held?  There is finally some information on the website that the race will be held after the NASCAR race that day.  Will the race be held somewhere inside the Superspeedway?  Will it be inside the Dirt Track?  Will it be held somewhere else on the grounds?  Will the course be a standard Rallycross course that includes both paved and dirt sections?  Anyone know the answers to these questions?

GSmith,

We are excited to have the Global Rallycross Series and drivers joining us! The event will take place after the Nationwide race on May 26th. It will be in the Superspeedway on the front stretch quarter mile. The course will be all paved, no dirt, but there will be jumps and an over under. Please let me know if you have any questions!

I always thought real Rallycross included both paved and dirt sections on the course.  Disappointing that will not be the case at Charlotte.  Can you explain what is meant by an "over under"?  Do the cars race on a paved oval with only all left turns (or all right hand turns if they race clockwise), but also with jumps and the over under?

An “Over/Under” is when one car goes over a jump and the other car goes in between the launching ramp and landing ramp.  The course will utilize both ride hand and left hand turns, and will encompass the Front Stretch and Pit Road of Charlotte Motor Speedway.  It will have multiple jumps throughout the course.  It will be an exciting addition to the Coca-Cola 600 Weekend.
